Why would you chose disposable??? Marketing would have us believe that there is no other realistic option. All we see is marketing of single use nappies (guess how much money they must have!!) while cloth nappies are the quiet grass roots revolution. Make no mistake, disposable (single use) nappies are useful products to have when laundering is an issue (eg. weekends away). As parents we need to make hard choice every day about things that impact our children, and trust our judgment that we are doing the best for them that we can. It is difficult to make an informed choice about the safety of disposable nappies when information is hard to find, and often hard to verify. No company with as much profit margin as plastic nappies are going to let negative information about their product dominate the information waves! Every baby has on average 6000 nappy changes while they are still in nappies. That is a huge pile of landfill if all of those are single-use nappies! Make a difference by starting to use reusable...
There are heaps of reasons that you should choose to use reusable nappies over disposables:- the massive amount of landfill that single use nappies cause
- environment costs of production (cloth nappies vs disposable)
- financial burden of disposable nappies
- chemical exposure to your baby
- less nappy rash!
