Ecobots works really hard to provide you with a quality cloth nappy, but also to walk lightly on the earth as a business as well. We have some standards and goals that we work by, to ensure that you can have peace of mind that you are buying a part of our challenge to be truly sustainable.
Our business aims to be:

1. Financially sustainable for our community
We choose to sell high quality products with a really low margin. We feel that it is important to offer parents a choice that isn't going to be hard to afford. We will also be flexible in payment options if you need us to be.
We want to support other local businesses as much as possible, and source workers and business support as much as we can from mums who work from home. Our quality checkers, some product suppliers, and even our web designer are all WAHMs.
2. Ecologically sustainable for our environment
It goes without saying that cloth nappy use supports a cleaner environment (particularly when you use a water and energy efficient nappy laundry service!), but we feel that we can do more!
We are tracking our energy use and waste products. We will let you know how we are going (check out on the right) but here are our current highlights:
- All our printer paper and outgoing paper is 100% recycled paper.
- All of our plastic waste is recycled by Mastagard.
- Paper and cardboard are re-used, then recycled
- We keep our packaging to a minimum and reuse where possible. You may receive your order in recycled boxes, packed with shredded newspaper. This is great for bedding in worm farms! No flashy excess of plastic or cardboard packaging for us! You can help eliminate plastic supermarket bags by using our calico ones.

3. Support sustainable living throughout the world wide community
We aim to source fair trade products, so that all stages of our business reflect the value of caring for our environment and the next generation - for all of our children.
We support the work of freeset bags in giving freedom to women in India. You to can support them by purchasing a funky jute nappy bag made by freeset bags. Profits from these bags are given back to the project.
We are committed to supporting small enterprises run by women, and are proud to give financially to a microenterprise scheme in Columbia.
